I like how you realised the lighting, only illuminating the lower half of the body with cracks all over it while keeping his hollow eyed face in the shadow with red light behind it creating somewhat of an ominous feel.

That a lot of pink :D I'm curious - I remember drawing a picture with a lot of red and after I was done my color perception got a bit off - everything I looked at appeared kinda greenish or maybe blue-ish, and that effect remained I think till the next day or so, have you experienced something like this?

I haven't personally, but of course your eyes would compensate afterwards and you'd see things with a different tint, just like when the light is suddenly turned on and everything looks a bit darker~
Probably didn't affect me because I was looking at the references so often, which were on a dark backgrounds =P
